PSA: If someone is doing work for you, you pay them or do the work yourself. I don't care what age they are. Period. I hope I don't see another instance of unpaid interns in the farcaster ecosystem. We go through enough shit in this industry. Don't fuck it up.

Keep in mind some are doing it for school credit and it’s honestly A LOT of work to work with them. (many times I question if it’s worth it having worked with a ton over the years as faculty advisor & biz owner—often easier to do yourself than to try to delegate.) And often there are stipends.

I can imagine how much work it must be to work with them, I've worked with people in crypto where hardly anyone knows what's going on. That's not really an excuse not to pay *something* especially when sponsors are involved. Even so, the way they are being used as a building in public ploy isn't acceptable in all cases

Clearly depends on the circumstances but definitely want to highlight the effort on the other side when an internship is done well. Also in this space, I’m assuming a lot of “interns” aren’t really interns but just a marketing strategy (could be wrong but seems like that for some)

yes, kinda the point. all the advertised summer marketing intern listings and actual associate jobs that the space calls interns are paid, often very well. then I see someone not being paid (even as a student or family member) I need to speak up. too many of us have done too much free work over the years
