hey just saw this -- wish I had seen this sooner and would love for you to be more involved again. We chatted about this in the call and I do think it's a good use of funds and connects directly with the audience we want to attract to Builder. Let's also keep in mind that BuilderDAO was funded with 1000 eth from Nouns. I believe it's important to align with this event for that reason more than anything. Also -- It's not anywhere near 160 days of auctions lol -- that would be 40 eth at least! Not sure if you misread the prop but the total was 4 eth not 40.

hey hey! My perspective has always been that Builder DAO is a tech startup, and our main KPI is the growth in usage and technology. In other words, we need to build until we find product-market fit, hence the skepticism about those types of marketing expenses. If the revenue from the daily auction is ~0.025 ETH, then it would take 160 auctions to reach 4 ETH. Is this incorrect?

Yeah I disagree on some points — since we are a DAO and NOT actually a tech start up, we still need to build community and need outreach to bring in new members and new DAOs. That outreach general comes from events & media. We’ve spent a total of 12.225 eth this year on events. (6 eth was EdCon — higher due to travel). This to me is very reasonable and I don’t expect we’ll spend much more beyond that this year. The new members, DAOs & token sales we’ve had this past year mostly have come from my efforts either via events or media so we do know that it works for that purpose.

Gotcha. Do you keep track of the numbers? Like how many new members joined the DAO?
