think he was referring to the modretro, which needs physical gameboy cartridges (imo there's for sure a "universal" cartridge that you can plug an sd card in or something like that, haven't done research). they don't want to say it publicly but i don't think a guy like palmer wouldn't have the foresight to see most of buyers don't want to use it with original cartridges
