like we didn’t vote on the community adopting farcaster either. enough ppl were motivated to try and give it a real shot and nudged their nouns friends to try and it turns out ppl liked it

still feel this way

reflection on dao vote re: $nouns was that it was unnecessarily contentious upfront when consensus can be gradual

much like how farcaster adoption was bottom up and gradual, $nouns can be community deployed and used by ppl that want to use it

dao engagement (eg treasury nouns) can come later

Proposal 536 (nouns fungible token) didn't pass, but we're releasing the code for anyone to use or modify. We also deployed the factory contract to sepolia & mainnet (addresses in the README). The code is pretty simple, but hasn't been audited.

this also leaves room for more market based competition for multiple types of nouns backed fungible tokens. should it have governance? should it have it’s own micro nfts? ppl can vote with their nouns gradually by where they deposit their nouns without the dao trying to pick a winner upfront

I agree.

The defeat of Proposal 536 stemmed from a misunderstanding. It was perceived as a strategic vote, imagined as a conflict between the tokenized NounsDAO and the NFT community's NounsDAO strategies. Opponents rejected this route due to concerns about regulatory issues and an incomplete token model.
