The conspiracy theorist in me… “so they bottleneck energy output to maximize profits and guarantee inequality.”

So cool, most of the loss is just in the heat at the pumps, the turbines the water flows through are super efficient. I wonder what prevents other places with dams and turbines from running similar schemes?

I’m a big fan of nuclear for solving this need (fission short term and fusion long term). There are a handful of interesting startups working on micro reactors. And in the US at least, time to start doing bigger projects once again and regaining that competency as a nation…
