I stopped considering myself an atheist once I realized it was a mental trap

Similar for me. My beliefs are unchanged, but labels like "I'm an atheist" have never served me well so I avoid them more and more often. I dig Zen Buddhism, but don't consider myself a Buddhist. I also don't think that makes me not-an-atheist. I hear being able to hold competing PoV is healthy 🤷🏻‍♂️

I think many people need to believe in a system of faith to have direction in life. I also consider myself a 'spiritual person.' I believe in a spiritual or higher dimension of life without necessarily aligning with a specific religion. The narratives created by humans and the consequences brought about by religions also make me appreciate the spiritual side without wanting to belong to a community tied to the actions committed 'in the name of religion,' whether in the past, present, or future

I currently consider myself religious, but I like to keep myself open to different belief systems. Studied Buddhism back in college and found it a very beautiful philosophy. Studying alternative religions, you often find that they all share many similarities.
