Got hit by a car today. First time. I ride the same route everyday to be careful around the high risk areas. But, at the end of the day, you are still trusting that they see you.

How did you end up, road rash mostly or did you acquire more substantial damage?

Huge bruise on my right hip and calf. It was a car turning left in an intersection as I was going straight. All good, just thinking about life.

Definitely uncomfortable, makes you appreciate being comfortable. Have you had other big falls or is this a first?

Yeah cycling is scary af. I rode a handful of years through cities and then around San Diego. I never went down, was always a bit freaked out. I figure if I’m gonna die having fun, I wanted it to be more than getting swiped by some crazy Californian driver on the side of a noisy road

Been cycling for 4 years consistently. First big hit. I raced dirt bikes when I was younger so the hit/pain isn't an issue. Just moreso the danger of cars that I was aware of, just heightened now.
