Catholic Church is weird as fuck, how has nobody said this? 

I’ve been to Mormon church, they’re not as weird as the Catholics. It’s 2023, I’m cool with there being more to this life than meets the eye, or not if you prefer, but the religious protocols are bizarre given what they’re supposed to mean.

Rituals, things being done to demonstrate spiritual cleanliness, mnemonic devices, etc

I just never knew how much more elaborate it all was vs some non denominational church on the west coast for example. I was surprised LDS is more low key as I previously thought they were a bit overboard with their mnemonics

It’s both cool that something has been around for 2000 years and absurd when what’s been around is a combination social control / self soothing device. I do love the architecture and especially the glass

I assume all the use of blue was related to demonstrating wealth as blue pigments are rare in organic forms?

I'm not a practicing Catholic, so don't really care, but the Church is 2000 years old? The oldest continuously running institution in existence?
