Touchscreens aren’t so bad when the interactions aren’t nested, problem is for some reason most of the interaction designs are nested interactions cuz most designers are trash

Agreed. Seems like adding voice control is an attempt to smooth that out, but it's way too slow and janky in any new car I've tried it in, including my own. The knob in BMW is not bad, but also not great.

100% I drive an F-150 Lightning, and I would have paid *extra* for the model without the massive touchscreen. Luckily, it was cheaper. 30 physical buttons is *so* much better than 1 massive screen, it's amazing how far the marketing has drifted from the value.

agreed mazda refused to incorporate touch for so long. but even they gave in. the knob is the way
