agree and disagree -- the least effective way to make learning sticky is just going to school and sitting through a lecture -- to get it to stick need to put it into action. I always learn best by doing but often have needed teachers/curriculum of some sort to get me started. The best teachers create opportunities in the classroom for students to pratice what they are being taught. (especially can see this in primary/elementary age) Depending on age, topic, etc, formal schooling may not be the most effective way. And also depends on the learning style of the student.

Are you speaking from your own experience? I agree with you. But I also think that my experiences in school have significantly contributed to my growth and had a major impact on me

I won’t say it’s the least effective per se but it’s not up there either, why’d you say it’s the least effective

I agree to some point but I don’t think it’s the least effective….what made you decide that it’s the least effective?

I do sincerely believe that "going to school" is way way way way more than just the topics being taught. The "everything I needed to learn I learned in kindergarten" is an apt guide of the "other stuff you learn" while you're learning.

I studied computer science in school and I can say for a fact that all I learnt in there that couldn’t be learnt online was networking and discipline. Everything else felt like a waste of time

To a degree this is true, but don’t you think school creates the best foundation for whatever it is you’re trying to learn ?

It's a controversial and provocative claim that goes against the traditional view of formal education as the primary path to learning and knowledge.

1000% school only takes you as far as your best teacher and your willingness to learn. In my experience teaching, those teachers are far and few between. Remove the teacher and bet on your willingness to learn.
