While I enjoy many of Schmachtenberger's ideas, he's wrong about this.

Evolution definitely increases entropy, if it didn't it couldn't exist. I can't tell how important this is for his overall argument but it seems like a pretty basic physics mistake to make.

Nope. Remember what criteria natural selection is using to select: the ability to acquire energy.

Natural selection only selects those that are better at increasing entropy.

Yep. Now there could be some reversions. E.g. a bear that evolves hibernation as an energy saving strategy throughout the winter, which reduces its total energy consumption in one year, but that would only be the case because by taking this strategy the total energy consumption can be much higher, e.g. by living longer

That’s true taking everything into account entropy goes way up with evolution.
