I think you’re underestimating the complexity of government organizations and overestimating the ability of technologists to design governance systems.

An opposite take is that governments will expand to create physical and social jobs to employ more people when knowledge work is largely made redundant by AI.

re first point: yep. it's actually quite hard. for the same reason finding out which drugs should be approved is hard.

Re second point. I doubt that part. At least not governments of the current rules
