sorry but this seems INSANE but my dad was telling me when he was a kid in Chicago they didn't have trash pickup they just had concrete bins that they burned their trash in and then the garbage people would collect the leftover ashes/stuff that didn't burn. like everybody just threw away their trash inside and then lit it on fire and then left ? idk  do other countries still do this regularly ? i guess everybody just breathed in burnt trash all the time ?

Hahah i used to live in a house with an old incinerator built into the basement. Scared the ever living shit out of me just knowing it was there

not having to walk to the community incinerator in the back alley cuz you have one attached to your house
