search engines and SEO are dead in the way that it existed before as it's culminated into peak capitalist garbage, abandoning functionality for profit. ai agents are the only feasible option going forward to get usable results tailored to your needs and not what people are paying others to show you. ai can filter that garbage so much faster and more efficiently than we can even if it's shown the same results it should be able to avoid the poisoned results, or hopefully one day at least. but i agree with the idea op was saying in think (i don't personally use perplexity often)
