Hot take: I believe the purpose in life is to live each day the best you can with the current knowledge you have.

When you say ‘live each day the best you can’ what do you mean though? Do you mean live it a way that makes you/others the most happy? Or live it in a way that most aligns to your moral compass? Or something else? 

I feel like once you elaborate on ‘best’ a purpose will appear

I get you, you can only live the way you know how to live, but you strive to live that way the best way you can. I like it, but I think that having some motive for a direction in which this ‘best’ way is headed also has value

Best is relative to the individuals understanding of what "best" is. As you continue to live it, it will change, then you to live it with what you learned the day before and then do that everyday.
I hope this make sense, I'm trying to get deep. It's the best I can do today. 😉
