From 'The Philistines' episode, 'Retch' 'Thank god Evan was asleep in the backseat. It took Perspect roughly ten minutes or so to stop retching. The battle had been over for a few days, Perspect guessed. The leftovers from that blocked the road. He briefly considered rolling over them. Practical matters overruled respect for the fallen. After the beaten up paths, Perspect feared his tires would blow out if he ran straight through the remains. He was forced to clear a path for the car. Fifty miles into this and already in disputed territory. Tears rolled down his face. He brought his son into this. Alliance or Union, none of this mattered at the moment. This trip was taking longer than expected. How much spare fuel did he have left? Would the car need repairs? What happens if a tire did blow out? Perspect estimated that he was about two or three days from St. Louis at his current rate.'
