After failing the college entrance examination in 1978, Yu Hua entered a clinic as a dentist, and this experience later became one of the materials for his early works. In 1983, he published his first short story "The First Dormitory", followed by other short stories such as "Leaving Home at the Age of 18", "The April 3rd Incident", and "1986", which established his position in the Chinese literary world.

I’ve always been a screenplay writer. I also write journalistic texts and love to interview people. But mainly I work as an editor. In the last months though I’ve been building a deeper relationship with poetry - either writing or reading. And it has been such a joy. Besides my solo work, we’ve been writing collective poems with my Warpcast / @alfafrens friends. And I’m pretty proud of us because together we… FLOW Collective poem written using a surrealist (cadavre exquis) exercise, created by: @isakost @arjantupan @burrrrrberry @nathansonic @irn-chf-lftovrs @zeni.eth @foodmasku @wake.eth Visuals by Isa Kost. @vitalik.eth wrote a really great blog post on the issue of aligning w/ pro-crypto candidates. Unsurprisingly, yours truly caught the writing bug and wrote a long response to V's post on X. The original thread is now available to read as a blog: https://hackmd.io/@emmanuel-awosika/single-issue-voting-crypto. Enjoy!

Violet Evergarden: The Movie Daisy, the granddaughter of Anne Magnolia, stumbles upon the letters sent to her grandmother during her birthdays. She becomes curious about the legend of Violet Evergarden, who is well-known for writing beautiful letters on behalf of her customers. More than half a century ago, Violet receives a request from a terminally ill boy named Yuris to write letters for his family. Meanwhile, Claudia Hodgins finds a mail with a vague address on it and recognizes the handwriting to be from Gilbert Bougainvillea, whom they thought to be dead. He manages to find its origin from the remote island of Ekarte and decides to bring Violet with him. Upon reaching the island, Claudia finds Gilbert alive yet missing his right eye and arm. Gilbert declines to meet Violet due to his guilt of bringing her misery, thinking that she will be happier without him. https://myanimelist.net/anime/37987/Violet_Evergarden_Movie
