is there any form of persistent storage with frames v2? ie: if a user has the frame downloaded, can you save some data to the user's device/app

IF you guys did implement an even more persistent form of storage at the app level… it really would make for an amazing place to host a dapp — could encrypt the user’s sensitive info and have it locally stored, avoid external DBs, etc.

Yes. There’s no Farcaster specific API but since frames are webpages you can use the same persistent storage you’d use in the browser, like cookies/localstorage/IndexedDB.
