Looking for genuine/thoughtful responses 🙏 Assuming you agree with the two statements below: 1. I can’t time markets 2. I’ve made many mistakes buying/selling specific coins What’s stopping you, today, from holding a diversified basket/index of the crypto market and holding it forever? And yes, it exists.

those have historically performed very badly in crypto. think index coop's tokens, BED, DPI, ETH2X-FLI... people bought in en masse last cycle and it didn't go well

Valid point! But none of those are of “the crypto market” which has performed very well

also, I guess I feel like ETH is exposure enough to most of the crypto market

Agree but that didn’t play out well last year (the market outperformed ETH). I think the worldview of “ETH is going to represent/beat the market consistently” is probably going to be challenged as crypto continues to mature Disagree?

still disagree but admittedly don't have data to back up my feeling. i don't pay close attention to markets but I work in Ethereum and all the highest quality builders I know work in Ethereum and it's tech that I'm impressed by so I'd rather just hold instead of doing research into how some other token (eg index) works

the crypto market might have outperformed eth but I view it as speculation and *my own* trading outside of just holding eth has never outperformed it. i stopped trying to do anything but accumulate ETH in 2018 (staking being the one exception)
