Recently ran into a Zigbee device that you can pair, but wouldn't show any controls. Turns out that HA ships with an entire database of custom code for devices that don't follow the specs, called zha-quirks. One company, Tuya, just built an entire custom protocol on top of Zigbee.

So you've got thousands of device identifiers like _TZE200_awnadkan _TZE200_3towulqd ... Which are sometimes the same, and sometimes just slightly different in their features.

I briefly tried it built a custom quirk for this device, but it's no fun at all.
