Hi everyone, I’m not sure if anyone has played with Stadium Sports League before, but there’s a petition circulating because they are enacting a policy that excludes non-binary and genderqueer players from their women’s leagues. If you’ve played with them or are a member of the Toronto community, I strongly encourage you to sign the petition. I’ve played against this team before*, and they are one of the kindest teams in the league. Following up on my own cast, but for context: the session was for Women Entrepreneurs Day. It was for networking + VC's reverse pitching their funds to us. One thing I noticed is that I was one of the few WOC in the room (lol of course). It's interesting because there's all these talks and articles online about how women only get 3% of VC funding. But I would like to know is... what kind of women? Because if I'm going off of the demographics in the room... women like me, aka WOC, aren't getting much and/any VC funding at a substantial level because we aren't even in the room to begin with. Love recognizing another huddle to climb /s 🙃

I got a new supplier for my nail polish bottles and the MQO was 5000. It will be approx. $3360 USD, which is roughly $4732 CAD. That CAD number makes me want to die. But I also know I can sell 5000 bottles and that first major MQO jump is necessary if I want to grow. 🤷🏽‍♀️ It’s also difficult to determine how much inventory to order since I’m still collecting data points since June (first launch). Writing this here so I can look back at this moment a year from now.

Some close up images of my new polishes. My favourite is the white… but everyone seems to be gravitating to the green. And these are my new bottles. If you order now you will get a more square looking bottle (no ml difference - still 12ml).

I recently worked on a challenging but incredibly rewarding project that launched yesterday. While navigating the project—including working alongside someone (who let's just say creates a less-than-ideal working situation)—I was proud of what we accomplished. Today I logged on to Twitter to see a hate tweet currently gaining some traction about said project while trashing the City of Toronto. In a less social media focused world, I would have done the project and moved on with my life. But we now live in a world where we are hearing people's feedback and opinions on a constant loop cycle that never ends. Our brains are not wired for this. At least mine is not. But hey, baby's* first indirect hate tweet? (*Me, I am baby)

For me Ralph Lauren has always nailed it with the best fashion ads - both modern and vintage. The Morehouse and Spelman Collection (2022) is a favourite of mine: a perfect blend of that HCBU classic and contemporary style 🔥 🔥
