Guido van Rossum, born Jan 1956, Haarlem, Netherlands. Dutch computer scientist who is the creator of the Python programming language. He started working on Python in the late 1980s, as a successor to the ABC programming language. Python was first released in 1991. Van Rossum was a core developer of Python until 2018.

He has also worked for Google, Dropbox, and most recently at Microsoft. Van Rossum has received numerous awards for his work on Python, including the NLUUG Award in 2003 and the Free Software Foundation Award for the Advancement of Free Software in 2006.... ✨
