people say AI will create new opportunities/jobs in replace of the old ones like previous industrial revolutions

meanwhile Cursor crushed thousands of jobs (SWE job demand down 40% in 2 years), became the fastest company to $1B ARR, and created *checks notes* 12 jobs??

Right but the fact that it encourages a lot of people to get into coding and experiment and build things is pretty amazing. I'm optimistic of where things are going.

the SWE will be freed up to work on other things ... that don't exist yet so that's the problem.
