lol. I don’t think either existed back then. Or if they did, they were in their infancy stages.  A c-list poker player/entrepreneur/influencer in today’s world got me into mining.  I won’t say his name as he’s still active. He probably has a fid on farcaster. 

Turns out he was either in over his head or he was smart enough to swindle a lot of money out of a lot of people and make it look like the business didn’t work out.  Either way I was hooked on crypto.

I’m interested  to hear others crypto origin stories.  Mine’s below. Been mining since 2017. Now that’s been taken over by west Texas cowboys with unlimited cheap electricity and never ending capital raises, I had to find something else to do. Enter degen and now moxie.

mined bitcoin back in 2013, sold most of it for tf2 cosmetics. huge L but i was young. i was mining on my gaming pc, but couldn’t keep it up for long. fast forward to 2017, bought back in and rode that bitcoin wave, made a little. then came 2021, threw it all into safemoon, watched it crash... went back to stocks after that. but earlier this year, found out about the purple app and degen life, and honestly... feels like i found my people at the perfect time.
