i went from being very into self-improvement stuff, then to thinking it was all corny slop for a few years, and now i'm back into it but through the lens of self-study. i see it now as just trying to get better at the meta-game of living, which is an infinite game

right? I found it interesting how the self-improvement content is recyclable, the same messages were being conveyed back in our parents lives and our grandparents

today it's easy to see that the industry is optimized for profits; there is only so much to know about ways to improve one's way of living
