many web3 digital artists have ditched @warpcast and are now focusing exclusively on x. you might think, "so what?" but this actually matters. these artists already get the tech and are deep in crypto culture. yet, they don’t care enough about farcaster to connect with their audience here. the dev/builder-heavy culture on farcaster might be cool if you’re into that niche, but it’s still just that—a niche. and i get that you might not like hearing this, but it’s the truth. for artists who just want to share their work, it’s exhausting. the best product managers i’ve worked with as a designer focus on bridging the gap between tech and consumers, leaning toward the consumer side. it feels like the farcaster builder ecosystem is resisting that approach, stuck in the dev mindset. maybe it’s because those deep in engineering often lack the consumer vision.

It's an interesting state of affairs. Some artists who haven't really experienced a ton of success before found success here, while other artists with strong collector bases never found their footing here. So, it's not all doom and gloom But that said, imho most builders here seem to consider NFT collecting generally to be a nuisance or some strange aberration in cryptoland. Think many were burned in the '21 bull buying garbage collectors, and that's the lens they view everyone in the NFT space with, including artists unfortunately It's kind of a shame, because the best digital art collecting experience I've had in the space has been on the purple app with in-frame purchasing, and the opportunity to lean into that back around springtime when artists were flocking here was pretty much entirely ignored

yeah; in-frame purchasing is 🤌🏼💋 but it also effectively highlights the blindspot that this ecosystem has. the in-app functionality is what sets FC apart from X. it's one of the UI/UX solves that was sorely needed in this space. yet became such a missed opportunity.

Yep I still hold some hope that we're a development or two away from that opportunity re-emerging (I mean the the massive benefit of hanging out around here is the buidl energy and activity after all), but feel like it will be up tot he artists and appreciators still here to help seize that opportunity if/when it comes
