AI Took a Photo!

There’s an obvious sign this is AI-generated. can you spot it? 🫵🏼🙂

The text on this AI generated pic is only confusing for humans.

I made gpt read it and it had no issue telling me it was written "engineering college".

I told it it was not written anything close to it for humans. It said it was obvious for AI.

It may be a new way for AI to communicate with other AI without humans being able to notice...

I made some experiments:
- cropped the text to remove all context, and AI tries to OCR and fails to extract any meaning.

But when you pass the full image it works. Always returning "Engineering college"

Si AI is not reading but only inferring from context.

And here is my second experiment: pick the same image but make it generate other context.

Note, the text and the lanyards are still completely meaningless and not even real text.

But AI is able to extract meaning!

A different one of course.

Out of context (cropped) AI is not able to infer anything.

More investigation showing the context is the only way for AI to read this: using similar setup, lanyards still have gibberish text, but then AI reads something else.

Trying to crop and ask again in the same conversation leads to AI being able to read from the cropped image

When asking with the same image in a new conversation gives totally different results

Just adding a smiley face makes you transition from lawyer to coast guard...
