ATP released a new Draft Environmental Impact Statement (DEIS) for Project Connect. With it, block-by-block details of the planned routes and updates to station locations. If all goes well, Project Connect will have riders by 2033, but the road ahead is mired in legal challenges, and the project may get shut down by state legislation later this year. Regardless, a lot of really incredible info, designs, and renders to look through for this generational project. https://www.kut.org/transportation/2025-01-10/austin-tx-light-rail-maps-station-locations

Personally, I’ve been fascinated by the East Riverside corridor since I moved to Austin. I could tell it was ripe for massive change from the day I moved in off Pleasant Valley and primed to become one of the most desirable transit corridors due to its proximity to Downtown, Ladybird Lake, and the Airport. It deserves to be a place for all people to live in and move through without stress. These renders, compared to what it looks like today, actually bring a tear to my eye.
