Had a meeting with a major label A&R today - one of the best in electronic music that I deeply respect. Biggest takeaway is how massive these companies are and how many decades of culture and operational infrastructure they've built to exist at the scale they do. Left the building feeling extremely humbled and realizing how big of a gap there is for @cooprecs to be anywhere remotely in the same ballpark. I find this energy motivating - it challenges me to be really honest about where we're currently at and think logically about how to close that gap. If I left with one piece of hope - it's that all labels are constantly on the hunt for what's new and different and I believe our value prop is pretty compelling to the next generation of artists that will break in the next 5-10 years.

Small labels can have a massive impact with enough applied consistency. This local label, Desert Hearts, grew to be a huge label in their niche, selling out festivals and booking/signing enormous acts. It can be done.
