i dislike how silicon valley glorifies being mean as if mean = honest. hardly. the honest truth is nobody is perfect and we all struggle with something. being a prick just means you cope with your issues through negative externalization. in the end you learn to regret this or devolve into a real selfish bastard.

there are definitely nice people in sv too! many many! 

there are also several sv (+ US tech outside of SV) tech main characters who are smart but rude, selfish, and/or explicitly and provocatively racist, who are routinely raised up without the slightest mention of their less becoming characteristics.

where does it glorify that? I've found incredibly nice people here in SV.

I've seen a few replies youve posted and got to say I wish I had friends like you.. youre obviously happy being you and no need for others value placed on you. You are one in a million I hope you NEVER change that ... sending positive and healthy vibes your way
