You are looking at a REST API and want to poke around it. What environment do you reach for? curl? node repl? postman?

curl. Postman got super bloated. Node is cool but I curl cause I can pipe it into jq and other utils and process it really easily. And most don’t know curl accepts “curl … -d @<path>.json” for longer payloads.

It depends: 1- In hurry / testing only 1 or 2 points: curl 2- moderate time preference / testing multiple points + complex response data: Node repl 3- Chance to turn into a serious prj + complex response data: The old Postman. I also use IDE tools/plugins sometimes.

I always start with curl in the terminal👀, sometimes it leads to a bash script to continue later 👣
