Are there any ideologically driven people involved in Solana? My impression is it’s pure mercenary: decentralization and open source are not taken seriously.

My experience has been quite different, though I'd say the IRL community feels very different than crypto twitter.

What is the ideology people are in Solana for? The sense I get is: “Ethereum but better entry price and more willing to compromise on decentralization for cheaper txs”

There’s a lot of consumer-focused product builders within the Solana community which I find pretty unique, and also a different development environment that I know some prefer. But if you’re suggesting that Solana builders don’t care about decentralization, I’d push back on that.
