This book is one of the first I bought on the subject of generative art and procedural design. John Meada is a giant, famously founding MIT's Aesthetics + Computation Group and fostering the talents of some of the finest gen art artists of our era. His own work is equally famous.

What's obvious for some is a discovery for other ... Thanks for the discovery :-) I've seen that there are multiple books from John Meada available to borrow on Internet Archive: they are poor scan copies, but until I can find a real copy, it will allow me to discover the book ;-)

That's very true re: discoveries. Definitely recommend tracking down a physical copy of this one, if the price is right. It's crammed full of ideas, working notes, designs, and great spreads of artwork. Thanks for the tip.
