I’m definitely more suspicious of non profit versions of things than for profit versions - the incentives are much harder to decipher

originally I had this thought. But doesn’t this detract from the power of the camera itself, as a tool to capture your unique, present experience? otherwise, what’s the purpose of the lens in the first place? to me, there always needs to be some aspect of augmenting what you’re looking at

you're in the year 2028. AGI development has made massive progress. someone opens an app on their iPhone 20 which they describe as a "magic camera", and they hand it to you. what does it do?

I think interstellar is a good example here. dystopian foundation wrt blight and mass starvation, but ultimately positive outcome & inspiring end scenes

to what extent does geographical pop culture determine the types of companies that can be built in a particular location? e.g could Snap only have been built in a place like LA? OpenAI only in SF? Ramp in NYC?

we need more honest negativity tbh. Not hating, just honesty. Not enough people calling out things that should be called out. Too much toxic positivity or ambivalence these days and it pisses me off

@barmstrong do you think a Libra-type project, governed by social + other tech companies, could be executed successfully today if done by companies other than Meta? Esp due to the growing popularity of stables/flatcoins

hmm I think it's a little different. For example I might want to follow only posts that I make (to see replies & interactions) but not see all the other posts that might not be totally relevant to me.

I'm hiring a full-stack engineer to join our team at Sup if you’re interested in solving new, consumer facing problems (like building a social OS with LLMs, or real-time messaging protocols) reach out! :)

thanks, got it. primary use case right now is just storing messages, embedding them, and clustering those that are semantically similar
