I’ve always loved sneakers, and dreamed in high school that once I started making money I would have a huge collection but over time my enthusiasm has waned. I can (mostly) afford the shoes today, but there’s only like a dozen models that really interest me anymore

this is basically the same concept as a kid saying “when I’m an adult, I’m gonna eat candy for every meal” but then once you’re in a position to do it, you realize it’s not what you actually want

Even though I can afford most of the sneakers I want today, paying full resell price kills the excitement a little bit. There is a high I get from getting sneakers at a deal.

I found this holds true for most material stuff. Friends, family, and experiences.

I find it impossible to buy a pair I’d like online, after failing so many attempts. I have to feel them out in-store and see how they look live.

Similar dream in high school, but today I just buy the shoes I want and wear them. I use to think more from collection, but what good is a shoe if not worn
