whenever I see people praise kanye i feel like i'm taking crazy pills. "Well, I see good things about Hitler also" "We’ve got to stop dissing the Nazis all the time" it's fascinating where society draws the line. being pro nazi is no longer a deal breaker for a disturbingly large number of people.

What I commonly see missing in critiques like these is the simple fact that Kanye is bipolar and refuses to take his meds...NOTHING he says should be taken seriously and yet takes like this are prevalent. Objectively, he hasn't been right since his mother passed.

It's easy to dunk on a crazy person saying crazy shit. I think a better critique would be, "Why is he surrounded by yes wo/men?"

That does not absolve him. He can be a genius and an anti-Semite at the same time. He doesn’t get a pass. Bipolar or not, people do listen to what he says. His anti-Semitic tirades are dangerous as fuck.

Still no excuse. Hitler was addicted to uppers. There is never a clear line between bigot and mentally ill.

A good question here could be, at which degree of dangerosity can someone with mental illness be put into an institution against his will? If we consider anti semitic speech can be dangerous in the mouth of someone who speaks to millions, then maybe there's actions to be taken?
