What are the ethics of running a randomized trial to test the effectiveness of dopamine spikes on school test scores. By giving candy to only half of the kids in an elementary school classroom, right before a test, and telling everyone else they can’t have any sugar. Then gambling on the outcome.

As long as the test scores are inconsequential and there’s parental consent, then it’s just another controlled study (subject to IRB approval), I don’t see problem there
