I agree, launching an L1 is incredibly challenging and often underestimated. However, purpose-built app-chains are here to stay. L1s may be tough, but for applications that need customizability, scalability, or sovereignty, they’re the only way to achieve their goals.

The ETH ETF is coming alive. Net flows (finally) have shifted positive, totaling $469m. This represents just 1.7% of Bitcoin's ETF net flows. I anticipated that the ETH ETF products would see a minimum of 10-20% of BTC's EFT flows. It hasn't played out this way.

L2's unironically are much better positioned for gambling, maybe the players need to be raked to death before seeing it but you have significantly deeper on site and rails to liquidity, don't need to use a 1% - 2.5% fee trading bot to land txns as txns literally never fail

Patronage. True patronage doesn't exist when you muddle it with secondary markets and "promise" / carrot of a speculative return. Nothing was true patronage inside NFTs and even less so with memecoins. Nouns is the closest to collective patronage i have seen/witnessed so far because of nature of projects it has brought to life.

For me, this was the most exciting part of the community call today: Opening up fan tokens to be bought, sold, transferred, and created outside of Farcaster (this still has to be voted on, but I'd be extremely surprised if it doesn't pass) Fan tokens are a powerful new primitive, but them being non-transferrable so far has limited their use cases. This new change would allow FTs to be used across DeFi, and perhaps in new protocols built specifically for FTs. Some possibilities: - Borrowing & lending markets (enables leverage on FTs) - FT index funds - FT LPing to augment bonding curve liquidity As a primarily Solidity / DeFi dev I'm super pumped about this and have lots of ideas. There's no marketing gimmick here. No tricks. Rocket Pool has been live on mainnet for three years, and now ANYONE can use it to launch a validator with only 8 Ether. This is huge for decentralization!
