can you say more about this? i’m not sure i understand. are you saying SBF was able to intellectualize away his moral responsibility?

Yes. I am also saying that many academics treat morality as if it is some completely logical and explainable system rather than – in large part – an act of individual judgment, common sense, and simple decency. Applying logical systems like Utilitarianism to moral life can have disastrous consequences.
