Yeah, I know TreasureDAO attempted some stuff like that.

But if e.g. XP/badges are transferable across games using web3 tech then this is pretty neat

I wanna play, not pay. Context: 95% of my gaming experience was late 90s/early 2000s, where you bought a game, enjoyed it and that was it.
