Lots of builders don't like meme coins and people that are "serious" about crypto don't like meme coins. Because they are just seen as gambling and the casino. They are noisy and wild. No true value creation. I too have these knee jerk reactions against them but I have come to embrace them and take the good with the bad. Number go up won't last forever but it is a great marketing tool in the mean time to get new people and builders interested in the tech. I got pulled more into crypto when I saw these jpgs go for millions built on the blockchain. The flashy numbers got me in and then I stayed to try create valuable things. /stokefire also tries to follow this model. Use speculation of the $FIRE token to help fund rewards and bring interest to the onchain game I'm building. Speculation can be used as an awesome tool!

Every crypto cycles follows this pattern as well. Tons of speculation during the bull market that brings in lots of people and helps us test crypto products at scale. Then more builders come in and we can all make the tech better. More valuable things can now be built even though a lot of people leave during the bear. But every time things continue to get better. Bitcoin even grew off of "non-valuable" or "bad" products such as the Silk Road. Gave it a first use case to make the tech around it better. Then it and crypto could be used for more valuable use cases later.

Talked about this on /earlymorningcrew that you made me think about it very differently after our call. As someone also bootstrapping this media thing it opened my eyes to what I could do. Seeing some other content creators do it has also changed my mind. Anyways thanks for opening up my brain to understand more 🫡

It reminds me of the flashy lights of the Vegas strip and idea of winning a jackpot which could change your life. Then you realize there are so many games and things hidden away in those huge casinos. Some bad, some good-ish, but it also hosts black hat and other insane things. Meme coins and stories of people turning Pennie’s into gold can make people “check us out”. Some of those join the 13yr old pump and dump, but every so often we are blessed with a true believer or builder or philosopher who helps shape the future of the Cryptosphere.
