Platforms have different priorities among: 1. Entertainment / Algorithm feeding 2. Following / Audience building 3. Social / Community finding Twitter used to be higher on 2, but now it’s higher on 1, which is why it feels so different. I think this is why Farcaster is so enjoyable. More 2 & 3, less 1.

Do you think the pursuit of an algo feed would hurt 2 and 3? Counterintuitively a focus on 3 involves less time spent in app

Idt that’s true about 3, people love spending time in online communities and talking to people they don’t see in person, so long as the app makes it easy

I see what you mean. Let me tweak the wording Algo feeds maximizing time in feed/app don’t necessarily help us with finding connection. Is there a good way to pursue 1 while not harming 3? What I’ve found most valuable thus far being here is what it’s done for 3
