Trying to wrap in my head why Anoncaster gained popularity over other Anon accounts. Also, I'm someone who is not comfortable with memecoins but want to understand good examples. So, ZK anon account wasn't a new concept. There was 33bits, which allowed users with <10k fid to post. Anoncaster did things differently by tying posting access to the ANON token. Why it was a big difference: The token part - ANON token was airdropped to Supercasters, who made another anon account popular - Anoncaster gave ANON utility - Compared to 33bit, in Anoncaster anyone could participate and the 1st users were degens and FC power users - ANON holders had incentive to promote the new app to make the number go up The tech - Supercast's anon account showed that tech behind is not quite important for the end users - But ZK part attracted the interest of ZK projects that have been looking for consumer apps for years -> more attention outside FC - And finally, it caught Vitalik’s attention Did I miss anything?

Timing. 33bits didn't launch in superanon hype ANON token -> eyeballs quality content on anoncast -> eyeballs stuck at least long enough to make it viable now it's a brand with active dev expanding token here keeps the community engaged around it. I personally have opinions about tokens, but can't argue the marketing angle of it.

Ah, yes, timing here is also perfect, because of clanker and superanon rise I also wonder what if Anoncaster had launched with a new token instead of ANON. I feel like it would still have become popular eventually, but probably not as quickly as it did with ANON.
