How often do you say the word “interesting” in conversation? My friend remarked last night that it’s a vague filler word, and he’s right. I use it that way far too often. It’s sort of like how startups call themselves a “platform.” Doesn’t mean anything.

sometimes there are words that you use just to acknowledge you were listening, w/o there being silence as you think of how to respond. "interesting" tends to be one of those, assuming not said sarcastically
