Since I spoke with @freeatnet.eth at Devconnect '23, I've been bothered by Justin Sun & Tron capturing the stablecoin market. It's not only less secure than Ethereum but also much more expensive than L2s.

A few weeks ago I met Marek - Co-Founder of Celo - and he told me that Celo has almost the same stablecoin usage as Tron. 

They have a partnership with Opera (yes, the browser we used to download to get rid of IE) that's apparently very popular in mobile-dominated Africa and integrated a stablecoin wallet inside the browser. Plus they did tons of other things described by Marek in this essay.

I'm happy that Celo will soon become an L2.

I think they even flipped tron addresses by now. Good news and I need to tell my boss to pay me in usdt on celo and not on tron.

Just need an offramp that supports it here in Europe 😂
