He was a superstitious guy and since Beethoven and Schubert both didn't survive beyond 9 symphonies he figured he'd mark his exit with the 8th.

So he made it big with 1028 musicians.

so he didn't even survive beyond 8th smh?

He survived and eventually wrote a 9th symphony. Didn't live long enough to complete his tenth.

So his superstition might have been correct after all 😂
