My streak lasted one day 😮‍💨 it’s okay, I don’t give up easily. New streak starts now! I’ve been obsessing over is Nick Susi’s essay “Magic, Online!” in one of my fave pubs Do Not Research I love the art and was floored to find out it’s made by RADAR member @domingobeta 🔮 Link ⬇️

I am both haha. Sometimes it crushes me that we pursue so much meaningless shit and sacrifice the actual things we could derive meaning from to it. Then on the other hand, if nothing matters it means you can create your own compass and values you wanna live up to. Making life here on worth the best it can be including the ups and downs (which i also think was nietzsche's message all along, not just that God is dead and we should despair)

Yes! I always go back to a quote from Kernel - ‘don’t try and change the system, abandon it’ If we come to terms that our entire concept of reality is a social construct, it’s overwhelming but also gives you the opportunity to make a life you want to live

I find it fascinating (and disturbing) the impact of time curating our selves online... Esp when you think of baudriallard's hyperreality where the existence of the camera shapes what we do/say and then add to that Susan Sonntag's points on photography. https://www.themarginalian.org/2013/09/16/susan-sontag-on-photography-social-media/ Abandoning the system is tough when your livelihood kinda depends on it. If I quit crypto, I'll probably quit X, but still far from that ^^

Ahh I love Susan Sontag and I love you! I read this the first time in this class I took in college called Photography Theory and Practice. We read a lot of Sontag and Brecht. It’s interesting to think about the time this was originally written and compare it to how much the camera shapes reality now. Combine that with AI and the memeificiation of everything and it’s past hyper real.
