Now reading the revenge of the analog by David Sax. Written pre-Covid but it appears the underlying trends persist. Where people crave the haptic experience of the real thing. So far that they even buy vinyls without having a record player. 😂

Flatness of the screen can't compete. And of course, there's the whole notion of if you actually own and take care of a thing, your attachement to it grows, and the things reflect back on you. A vinyl collection is something you can share with a friend in the same room and discuss. A spotify playlist, much less fun. Also, after starting to use idagio, I came to realize how much is missing on Spotify. For example: recordings of the same song by different artists can't be easily found or compared. The album as a form of delivery. And so on.
