Josef Pieper "Leisure, the Basis of Culture" It appears very slow-aligned to re-educate people that leisure actually is virtuous and we shouldn't just see it as the "opposite of work". Only those who go slow and take time will hear.

I've had a copy of this classic on my shelf for 20 years, and I return to re-read it for inspiration every once in awhile. Great choice for this channel. "...it means not being 'busy,' but letting things happen." Yes.

on silence being necessary to apprehend reality... i think that one thing that i'm beginning to be certain of is that the busyness of modern people is at least part of the reason why (i believe) that there is a lack of self awareness on the rise. we're too busy, too distracted to sit with who we really are.
