i honestly think it all comes down to loneliness, not having 'your' people, isolating yourself and so many factors play into that. l o n e l i n e s s we need technology to be on our side goddamn

Even ZDF Royal magazine did a video on being alone. And one big point they brought up is the lobby for the being alone... which ofc is Big Tech and the platforms benefitting from this. But then again the framing of each other as competition surely doesn't help - nor the entire mindset of "can't trust other humans" - which of course is also big in crypto and the reason i started going down this rabbit hole (hence my depressing feed). We need to get back to some healthy balance between autonomy and connection.

hahah yes! I actually watched parts of that episode! agreed, and i think there'd be a lot more trust if we interacted with each other directly vs just talking about each other
